TC30 starting (darn safety switches)

Good day to all,

Have a question for NH owners. Bought a TC30 last year. A 2006 model year and so far love it. I'm getting old and it's saved my bacon and back on many occasions. One of the problems, have a few -all minor and solving them one at a time, anyway, occasionally starting it involves my bouncing on the seat several times and cycling the ignition before it will crank. Once it does it starts fine. Question is, can the seat safety switch be adjusted to require less pressure, cleaned to assist movement, or bypassed? Also is there an after market ignition switch that can replace original, or is there a clean and replace that may solve the issue? How can I tell whether the seat switch or the ignition is the issue? Thanks in advance. Live in Tucson, 106 here today. Gotta love it...right?

My wife has a 2006 TC30. She got so upset she could not start it. The dealer made the switch bolt super tight. So my 225lb butt could start it. Not for her 115lb butt. So I loosen the bolt to were it almost comes out. Now she can start it. Give that a try.

Thanks JD500, will try it. Had the seat up several times and used my hand to activate, i.e to compress the spring, seemed to require quite a bit of concentrated force. Was also checking threads and found some indicating wd40 as good for cleaning contacts and switches. Any body have experience, or input, on that?

I jumpered mine so my skinny 13 yr old could drive it....he doesn't do that much with the tractor - and nothing without me there - so safety is still in the mix - as in me yelling instructions from the ground.
