TC30 hst w/ fel $18,500

My local dealer quted me this price is this a bit high?

I got a quote yesterday from my local dealer on a TC30 hst with loader and R4's for 16500. He was asking 18850 for a TC29 hst with 14la loader and R4's. Both prices don't include tax which is 6% in WV. Obviously pricing is regional but I'd still say the price (and possibly the dealer) is high.

Your prices are better but not great. I love the TC29DA it more powerful twin the TC33DA but right now I think New Holland has some costing issues that they have to figure out. In similar capacity machines, Kubota seems to have a price advantage over NH by several thousand dollars at the dealer cost level, that translates into lower retail prices. A couple of the minor brands can put you on a 30hp tractor & loader and toss on a backhoe for about $19,000. Those are very heavy tractors, may not be great if you will spend a lot of time mowing the lawn, but they are great workhorses. Don't get me wrong, the capacities of the NH tractors are among the best, the ergonomics are top notch on the TC29/TC33, they also have features that no other brand has, but I'd suggest you really shop your dealer hard. I love my TC24 and generally think very highly of NH, but I also think they need to get real with some of their prices.

FWIW, I am not a big fan of the TC30, it is a fine old style machine, it covers all the basics. It does not have the advantages of the TC29 in terms of capacities, ergonomics, etc.

I agree with you on their pricing. It seems a bit high to me. Although the prices i got quoted where lower than some of the "online" dealers. Just to compare, I recently got a qoute on a Kioti CK30 HST w/loader for about 15700. I think the CK30 and TC29 compare fairly well. Thats a considerable price difference. The current 0%-60 month financing deal on the NH makes it attractive but even with higher rates I'd still pay less money for the Kioti just because of the lower amount I'd have to finance.

The price you got on the CK30 is several hundred higher than others are reporting here on that model with HST. Personally, if I was not going to use a MMM at any point in the future, I would easily choose the CK30 over the TC29, presuming both brands had quality dealers in my area. The CK30 is a very nice machine, for the price difference it is impossible to choose the TC29 right now. NH was very competitive about a year ago, but this year is not. The price on the TC29 could be justified for a TC33 because of the added power, but not for a TC29DA without the SuperSteer upgrade, heck even with SS, it still is on the high side compared to competitors like Kubota, Kioti and John Deere.

You should see the TC29 creaping down into Kubota territory with the new discounts. Its still probably a bit higher, but its close enough to consider.

Around here you can generally find the TC30, no HST, with FEL, 5ft Brushhog, and trailer for around $16,500. The TC30 may not be a pretty as the TC29 and TC33 but it is a workhorse. It was built for that, not looks. I prefer the metal over plastic myself. TC33 is only one more hp, plus what $3000?
