New Holland TC30
I have an '06 New Holland TC30 that I bought new when I retired. Within about three months after purchase the dealer closed down overnight. It has been a real joy for the little I need a tractor and it now has about 100 hours on it. My son-in-law came over to help move some dirt around and when he left it would not go into any gear. It just grinds. The clutch doesn't have any resistance all the way down. I've moved four times since I bought it and now I can't find the owner's manual. Is there anything that could have come loose that I can reattach or an adjustment that would put it right? The closest dealer for repairs is about 50 miles away. I've had them service it before but they charge $90 each way. If they come look at it and then need to order parts, I'm out over $350 just for travel. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone knows a good tractor mechanic in Tallahassee, FL, please let me know.

I have a 07 TC30 and am quite pleased. I think first I would look under the left side foot plate just behind you clutch pedal and see if a pin has come out and allow the linkage to become disconnected. If it was working fine before try this first. I have a manual that I'd gladly print and send you, but I think you can get online with IH and download one. Good luck from Oklahoma and Merry Christmas.

Thank you for your response. I did as you suggested and found all as it should be. I do, however, sincerely appreciate you taking time to help. I hope you have a safe and memorable holiday and a very Merry Christmas.

Give me a little time and I'll look in my manual. Is the pedal firm and feel normal?

Clutch adjustment: clutch pedal travel should be 3/4" to 1 3/16".
To adjust pedal: on the round rod the pedal is attached to, the Cleve's next to the transmission, is for the travel clutch. The on to the outside is for the PTO. Shortening the linkage will decrease the travel. Lengthening will increase the travel. Try this first. Come back and tell me.
