TC24 VS B7610

<font color="red"> People tend to lump all 24HP machines into an equal catageory and that may not always be good.

I think that is what I was trying to say with my long winded reply where I went through the different tasks and the strengths of the machines. I'm sure there are many more differences than I listed, but it really strikes me that these machines are designed for different uses.

Is there a significant length difference (with FEL down) that could affect trailering? I don't trailer my machine, so I don't know what the key points about trailering are other than weight.

Cliff, I'm sure that, as a Kubota dealer, Neil will correct any techincal mistake I might make, but the B7610 is the plain vanilla version of the deluxe B2410. I believe they share the same engine, the same frame, and same wheels. So if they are not mechanically clones of each other then they are at least very similar. Therefore the overall length would be the same (perhaps give or take an inch or two).

Either of those two Kubotas will be lighter than the New Holland TC24. Length over all of the two Kubotas will be roughly the same (perhaps give or take 6") as the TC24.

Yep Bob, for all practical uses they are the same... the B2410 just has more creature features.

BTW.. to remove my Bias I am also a New Holland dealer. Just a friendly reminder for the visitors.

Actually, that's the question I had intended to ask. It's deceptive I guess, because it looks like the FEL on the NH tractors stick our much farther than the Kubota FELs. I guess it's an illusion from the sloping arms.

Cliff, take a look at the various curved arm units from NH. The 12 has a really steep rake down but as you go up in size it seems like the 16 pushes farther out front. I'm not sure if that is true in real life but it does appear that way. Someday maybe Neil can go out to the yard with a protractor and measure the slope for us to see if the different size units do in fact slope at different angles???

I have to agree with Bob that the TC24 would probably be your best choice if you're going to be doing much loader work at all. The sloped hood and curved arms make such a great difference in visibility that I would have no problem in choosing that tractor over the two models of Kubota.

Combine that slope/curve with a higher lift capacity and that would pretty much decide it for me.
Reliablity between the two brands is probably not questionable on either side, so comfort, capcity, usability, price and dealer would all lead to the answer for me: NH

If I understand the original post, both dealers seem to be good dealers. The NH will probably be the most expensive, the B2410 in the middle and the B7610 the lowest price of the 3 tractors. Comfort is subjective. Capacity leans toward NH. Usability of the FEL would lean toward NH. But I still wonder what the tractor will be most used for, because it is certainly possible that the NH may be more tractor than is necessary, depending on the tasks needed to be done. It is hard to make a mistake by getting more capacity, but then again, in this case, it is not my money to spend.

I am curious from the standpoint of Neil, our resident Kubota/New Holland dealer, when would you recommend Kubota over NH and when would you recommend NH over Kubota?

I should have added that the lowest price would not necessarily win out. The price difference between the brands could make a big difference for me. As for the comfort is subjective statement, Bob, you have a quite a knack for voicing the obvious. John

Well, in reevaluting my uses I felt it would certainly make sense to put this new tractor to work in mulch sales (which I had previously handled w/ my NH skidsteer, now off site). So I would think FEL is important. Now this is what the difference is amongst the two dealers. The K dealer has complete machines (FEL&BH) set up. I'm not allowed do dig/ load with them but I can look @ them and drive them. No demos. Great customer service, very informative. I "want" to do business here. The NH dealer has been around much longer and I would guess has a tighter conection to thier veteran tractor owners and farmers in the area; which I am not. I've never found thier customer sevice a strong point from the owner or mgmnt.. Although they have machs. on site, many are not optioned. Case in point, they have 2 TC's 1gear, 1 HST.; both are stripped. They finally got 1 LA12 w/54" bucket in; it sits on a pallet on one side of the service building. They have no other LA12's in service to demo. The only 1 BH unit sits uninstalled in the brush on another side of the same building. Again, they have No Dig/ No Load policy on thier "demos". What demos? No cabs for this unit in stock; no Curtis cab avail. for this model; and they have only one Sim's catalogue that they "don't want to give out". They say that this cab needs mod. for install on the TC,- Can anyone recommend a quality soft side that is actually MADE for this tractor? Frustrated-Yes. I'm running around thier yard invisioning what the tractor will look like, and how it might operate when it's actually put together. A side note on the TC visability issue. In my opinion and in relaton to operating much larger equip. the "Extra" visibilty of the TC is a little desceptive. Yes, you have approx. 12 additional inches of top bucket sight (from the sloping hood) and some additional lateral sight due to the sloping arms. What you may overlook is that the arm spread in width is approx. 42" on the K while it is an amazing 33" on the NH. You might think that the TC has this it all over the K. here, well mabye not. When using larger pieces of equip. like a CAT/ JD loader there are no attachments so you become very versitile in using the mach. Example, I prefer all grading and blading with the FEL. It works for me. So although the TC has some increased, unobstructed over the hood visabilty, the much narrower arms tend to interfere with visibility of the bucket for on-edge dragging and grading. The added width between the arms on the K SEEMS to to be an obstruction BUT the arms are not any wider than the widest point on the tractor footprint ( rear tires). The space between the arms and the hood area on the K actually provides better sightline for side bucket visability and on-edge bucket draging than the TC. Anyway, I do like the power of the TC FEL, certainly a plus in loading mulch. Can anyone tell me from thier "assembled" LA12 max lift height w/ bucket dumped? Does anyony know how it compares to the B7610? If I do descide on the TC I've seriously thought of going out of my area to purchase it. I'm sure another NH dealer would appreciate my business.
