Not unless you are using it a lot. I never have a problem that causes me to have to change mine prematurely. Manual calls for draining every 100 hours and changing every 200 hundred hours. You may have sediment or algae in the fuel tank.
You either have a problem in your tank or from your source. I change my filter each spring with more hours on it than they recommend, but I do my best to use the best fuel I can find and screen it when I fuel up.

I worked at a ATV dealer and a few people had dirty fuel problems. They were the farmers using fuel from bulk tanks. Though difficult, we convinced the farmers it would be cheaper to have clean fuel in 5 gallon cans for the UTV's, ATV's, garden tractors, and motorcycles instead of paying for all the fuel problems.
