TC 40 PTO

The PTO on my tractor continually runs even when not engaged; when not engaged it is at a slow speed.....could it be a short in the wiring? Has anyone seen this problem before?

If I remember right that model has an independent PTO.
My guess would be your PTO brake is worn or broken and letting the oil drag on the PTO clutch's turn the shaft.

I have a 2003 tc35d and it did the exact same thing for about 250hrs now it will spin with the shredder hooked up but as soon as you start shredding it comes to a halt.Dealer said it has to do with a part in the very bottom end and everything has to come apart to fix it.Not cheap at all.DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO!
