Guys,

I changed my oil this past week and instead of driving 45 miles to get a nh filter I bought a wix from the local auto supply. The rubber O ring was a little smaller although I had them cross the filter twice. It did rest on the flange of the block ok but I wasn't too happy with the fit. I thought I memorized the wix # but I guess I didn't. It was a 913XX??

Anyone use wix filters on their tc?

After I found out my local NH dealer was charging more than a 100% markup over other dealers retail prices I started using all wix filters. Aside from some minor cosmetic differences I haven't noticed any functional difference at all.
They don't know how to honor a warranty anyway here so I sure don't see any harm in using them. I've been using wix in my trucks for years with no problems too. My last one went over a million miles without an overhaul so they must be working good.

I heard about crossing NH over to Wix and was going to do it, but I found that the local auto parts dealer wanted more for the Wix than NH did for the OEM filter.

I can't recall exactly, but it was around $10 for the NH filter.

Here's the Wix lookup page:

I have looked up Wix filters for my tractor, but I've not used them. I ordered a box of filters from Messicks.com and UPS delivered them to my door. The price was okay and hard to get more convenient than that. :)

I wasn't sure about the number. Mike, was there any difference in the size of the seal between the nh and wix your useing?

I don't know about prices but the wix was a little over 5.00, maybe 5.50. I'm just not sure I like the fit. I guess if it seals it's ok. I'll just keep a watch on it.

I have no idea. I started using the wix several years ago and never looked back. One reason was they were a lot more convenient for me to buy.- I just pick 'em up when I buy the filters for the other vehicles.
