TBN-5242 CBN-728 Where\'s the Diehards

Everyday, I look at the registered users of both forums. I find that a lot of the TBN members have not joined the ranks of the CBN. This forum is a sister to this wonderful forum. There is so much more to rural living, that can't possibly be discussed here. And personally I need the experts from this forum to help answer my questions over there./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif So please all the wonderful people of this forum show up in the new one. We all need you. And Bird, I miss you. Where have you been?

Re: TBN-5242 CBN-728 Where\'s the Diehards

I think a major reason for this is that we just don't have the time to be a consistent member of too many forums. Most of us are already spread too thin with jobs, wives (well only one in my case /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif), kids, animals, tractors, etc. While I have registered at CBN, I have not contributed. I would much rather read/contribute to Rural Living on this forum then join another.

Yep, I understand that. The only time I can get on both of the forum for the most part is Sunday while I watch football. Thanks for the reply.

Re: TBN-5242 CBN-728 Where\'s the Diehards

It seemed like there was a flurry of posting right after the site came online. Now it has kinda slowed down but with it being a fledgling site I think this is to be expected. I like seeing a lot of familiar names over at CBN but as time goes by the membership will grow and be different than the crowd here at TBN, which is good because it will help give CBN it's own identity and make it different from TBN. I think that is good because I don't really want to see CBN as just being an extension of TBN.

Hi Chris,

I agree with what you say about having its own identity, but I'd imagine a lot of tractor owner would be interested in the country life. CBN will be a great place to get info about rural living. I'd love to see more of the people from here, show up over there. We've got some real experts in this forum. I'm guessing it won't take long for CBN to out do TBN. Thanks for the post.

I tend to check it on weekends. As we get closer to building our home in a few years, I'll probably start shifting my posts in that direction.

Hi Kent....

TBN has been around for a lot longer. During this time many people have registered at TBN who have never posted or have posted a few times then moved on to other things. This likely may also happen at CBN. In time, thousands will register but only 100-200 will be the regular, diehard posters as is the case here at TBN.

Hi Bob,

You have a point there. Last night I was looking through the user list, and found a lot of zero behind names. I guess they register, and don't have any questions at the time. Thanks for the post.

Re: TBN-5242 CBN-728 Where\'s the Diehards

I'll tell you I don't know if I will be doing both boards anymore. You see alot of the same posts and same topics being discussed on both. Guys will post the exact same q's both here and over on the cbn board. It's getting a little confusing.

Re: TBN-5242 CBN-728 Where\'s the Diehards

Hi Kent!

I've registered over at CBN, but just haven't had the time to visit very much. I'm thinking along the same lines as MossRoad. We'll be building our "Country Compound" in a few years, and by then CBN will have worked out most of the growing pains. I would expect to start getting more involved at that point.

But my heart will ALWAYS be with TBN! /w3tcompact/icons/love.gif/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Re: TBN-5242 CBN-728 Where\'s the Diehards

Hi Garry,

Glad you registered. I'm having trouble finding the time for both forums. I did post some questions, and such on CBN. Its a little faster then TBN, I think. Pages load a bit quicker. I agree , my heart is with TBN too. Very enjoyable these last 6 months or so.

Cowboydoc,

I noticed that there are some double posts also. It does get a bit confusing. CBN will, I think be bigger then TBN eventually. There's more of an array of topics. But I still love my Tractor Talk.

Talk to you, Gentlemen later.

Re: TBN-5242 CBN-728 Where\'s the Diehards

Unfortunately, Steelfan, this raises the age-old question, "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?". I try to look into each of the recent postings on each of the forums because there's a chance of something I need operating my farm or my tractor. Right now, it's slim pickings as far as CountryByNet.com is concerned but I'll keep checking in (and contributing when I believe I have something to add) and I encourage everyone else to do the same. Thanks for your encouragement of the new site.
