First off; my apologies. I started this thread in the general repairs and Maintenence forum which was probably the wrong place.
I have a TaskMaster 432; this is a Dong Feng tractor as many of you know. I understand TaskMaster no longer exists so I need to do a bit of cross referencing and maybe someone can help. First thing that comes to my mind, is there any way to get a Dong Feng model number off the tractor? I have a Dong Feng parts book that came with the tractor for DF-280 & DF-284. I'm assuming my tractor is one of these models and would like to confirm this. Any help is appreciated.
On another note, I'd like to hear from anyone who owns a Dong Feng tractor and has had to do a clutch replacement. Would you mind disclosing the cost for labor and parts? In many ways the tractor still has a lot of life in it; the engine still runs good (need a new solenoid) there's lots of rubber left and the frame and body is still solid but I'm wondering if it is worth the cost of putting in a clutch with so many other components having almost 800 hours of wear. Any opinions will be appreciated. Thanks.
