I'm looking at a tar river spreader.

Seems dangerous to me to have the actuator so close to a spinning shaft.

Other spreaders seems to have double the clearance or more.

Am I missing something?

Once the opening is set for the correct seed or fertilizer granular size. Start the tractor, open the lever,
start the pto when ready to spread, start moving at reasonable speed. To stop spreading, kill the pto..
Yea, you're going to lose a hand full of seed or whatever. But the agitator inside the bin is what
mixes/pushes material out while the pto also spins the distribution plate.
I do not have a Tar River spreader, the one I have has about 2" or so clear between bin opening
and spreader plate. Good luck.
