Very interesting indeed. I started using gun taps maybe five years ago. Even tapping by hand they are faster because you don't have to go back and forth to break the chips. Just turn it clockwise through the material.

I guess, I should have said "Thread Tapping" I always try and make titles as useful for searching as possible, even though the search function has never worked at all.
