I bought a 15 gallon Tank Sprayer a few years ago that i put on my ATV rear racks, i've had a lot of issues with the handle leaking etc i bought the Tank Sprayer from tractor supply the original wand started leaking so i bought one on amazon and of course that one leaks now to. (plastic junk)

It's not something i use much maybe twice a summer but can anyone here suggest better quality hand wand?

Also i don't find the ATV tank sprayer very easy to use as it's hard to spry and drive with one hand also very easy to run over the hose.

I have to admit it is much easier to use a back back sprayer but i got tired of not having enough weed killer and pumping it all the time.

Buy a backpack sprayer with a lithium battery pack, no more hand pumping. I can't do that, at 83 I'm not stout enough to carry the weight on my back and walk until the sprayer is empty, so gave it to my nephew.
When my 15G hand wand began leaking, I bought a new one from Rural King, so far so good. Remember to flush it out with clear water, then empty out excess water and run the system dry before storage.
As to running over the hose, get a few bungee cords and fasten it along the side of your ATV up to the seat.

I bought a TSC model about 15 years ago; still running good!
I wired it to go into the back of a pickup trailer wiring plug so my older parents could ride around and help. They got a huge kick outta spraying weeds/mesquite!
My future project is to get a tote and rig it up in an old jeep trailer as a firefighting apparatus on the ranch.

Back in the early 90's I bought a small tow-behind sprayer at Tractor Supply. It didn't take too long to jacknife it and damage the tank. I found a used 15 gallon tank and made a frame for it. The first mount was for the 3PH so it would be part of the tractor (Ford Pic) and not a separate piece to deal with. Then for a while it was set up with a 2" square tube to fit into a receiver hitch. Then I modified it to mount on the RFM (Kubota Pic). Last week it underwent a minor mod so it would mount on my brush forks. Hardly any parts of the original sprayer remain.

It's been waiting for a day without much wind to do an application of TSC-branded liquid Weed n Feed, but yesterday the dandelion on one part of the yard simply needed a good drink. The spray from the nozzles on the arms is way too fine for the wind we had, but the coarse spray from the wand was perfect and the wind actually helped. So I just strapped the rig onto the york rake that happened to be on the Ford and did the job. I do prefer using the cabbed tractor for spraying, but with some awareness of wind direction the Ford works. The bulk of the yard can wait for a lull in the wind.

I've been a fan of having the sprayer on the back so the tractor was ahead of the spray and wouldn't run over the sprayed grass. That was mainly for when I used "defoliant" so it didn't track to things that should live. Haven't needed to do that in recent years. I got tired of turning around to monitor spray pattern and liquid level. That brought the latest mounting change. So far there aren't any pics, but it was just adding a couple eye bolts that catch the tips of two fork times and an old ratchet strap to hold it back. The provisions for mounting to the 3PH and RFM are still in place.

For an ATV sprayer, I’d look at Northstar. I’ve had their 26 gallon for 7 years, and it’s a champ! I spray acres and acres each year with it. I have the hand wand and 12’ boom.

For a backpack sprayer, hands down, the FlowZone Typhoon 3 is the one I’d choose… because I did. I use it on residential (1/4 acre or less) lawns. It’s amazing. Look at the specs… impressive machine

I took an old Cub Cadet mower and built a frame on the back to hold a 26 gallon sprayer. More or less a permanent mount with home made spray bar I can attach when I have larger areas than I want to use the wand on.

Back pack s a enot for old men....I did pretty much what John0829 did but no spray bar, just long hose....

Buy quality all metal wand, and put 50 foot hose between pump and hose, this allows you to spray in about a 100 ft diameter circle (walk around) from sprayer tank.... Anyway that is what I did and it works for me....

I use a 16 gallon North Star broadcast and wand sprayer easily lifted in and out of a golf cart utility box. Small 12v powers it for weeks, on off switch located on the roof support, wand in the front seat. Been a pretty reliable rig.
