tank 48 breaking belts suddenly help me

2 years and i've not broken a belt, now all of a sudden i've broken 2 in 2 weeks! its the top belt, from the motor to the top of the deck, it turns the deck...

is there an underlying reason? maybe a pulley or rotor blown?

Do all the pulleys that belt touches spin nice, with no wobble and they're all lined up the way they should be?

might also want to make sure you've installed sn OEM belt vs. an aftermarket belt. They are more $$, but are usually made with kevlar & will hold up. Also make sure that loaded idler pulley isn't touching the belt backs together - my SIL had a 2560 tank that the pulley clearance was real tight - hadta adjust the deck forward.

Often it is a idler issue! bad bearing or they are bent causing the belt to come off.
