BX25
The new toy should come this week, thanks to Barlow's.

Is there a list of things I should go over on the tractor before accepting delivery?

Check all the fluid levels. My 2360 was low on every one of them. The front axle was a quart low. The sales guy delivered it with the wrong tires. Check everything becouse these dealers are used to working with farm equipment and don't think scrathes on the paint are a big deal. You need to let them know it is a big deal and even a deal breaker.

Are you talking about Barlows or just generalizing that all tractor dealers are the same?

I read good things on these pages about Barlows. The dealers in my area would rather be selling a piece of six figure farm machinery and Kubota to them is just a sideline they do. I had to bypast the three nearest dealers before I found one that was just ok,then they also sell John Deere and recommend it before Kubota. I love my BX but these dealers force me to learn to take care of myself. Also congrats on your new BX,Your going to love it.

Your Mom was a pleasure to talk with...really nice lady. As soon as the blower lands, we will be heading your way. It will be either late this week or early next if all goes to plan.

Just to clarify for John...we didn't sell this one in WI. Hopefully it is doing well for you. The BX2360s, BX2660s, and BX25s have been really good so far.

Didn't think so but wanted it clarified for others. Was confident that it wasn't Barlows that the negative comments were directed toward.

I can't wait, I've got a list of work to do as long as my driveway!

With a new tractor, is it advisable to stick a magnet near the drain hole on the oil pan? I've heard of some Subaru enthusiasts do it to collect filings, rather than have them circulate around.

I havent done that magnetic trick- and never thought I needed to do that as the oil seemed clean after 50 hrs.

All the BX's come with a filter screen with magnet inside in addition to the HST fluid filter so you're covered for any larger filings that make there way into the tank. It's on the left, lower side of the HST and you can pull it and clean it out during your scheduled fluid changes.

Don't forget the Kubota hat, and a spare key. The delivery person should spend quite a bit of time going over the operation of the tractor, and how to remove the BH, etc. Read the manual, it gives a lot of info. You are going to love your BX25, they are great little machines.

Plus isn't the block aluminium? So a magnet wouldn't catch much. Trying to remember what was in my screen (bx-23) this spring on hyd oil change. Sure didn't look like cast will tap it next time 2 see.
