TAFE model 3840

New to the board so go easy on me. Also new to tractor buying.

I found a 2004 Tafe 3840 with 4 hrs on it. Dealer has 2 of these units still warrenty them as a new tractor. Base tractor is $10200. My questio is this a fair price for an '04 model that is new. Dealer is small but very good on service work and warrenty. Basically a one man show. Dealer/owner/shop foreman /lead mecanic. Not trying to start a pi$$ng contest just thoughts on price??????????

I have Montana 3840 which is essentially the same unit but a 2005 model. I paid 16k for it with a loader. Loader is probably worth 3-4k I think so that brings base down to 12k-13k. If dealer will warranty it as new from the date of sale then that sounds like a great price especially when I believe there have been one or two price increases since I bought mine. Hope that helps you in your decision.

Hey, I'm about 35 miles north of Laurel. Would the dealer be Russell Tractor in Laurel? If so you couldn't find a better mechanic or more honest person than Russell. He's forgot more about tractors than most people learn in a lifetime.

A friend of mine has a Tafe and has had good luck with it.
