Hi,

The tach and hour meter on my 3910 quit yesterday. I did a little exploratory surgery to find that the cable is fine, but there seems to be an issue in the tachometer adaptor, which is the part sitting on the block that the cable actually plugs into.

I got the cover off and this is what I found. I believe the piece with the frayed wire on it is the problem, and I'm pretty sure it's part of the adaptor itself, and not the cable from the dash. It has a female coupling for instrument cable to plug into.

So I have two questions, if anyone can help. First, to replace this little piece, do I need to replace the entire adaptor? Second, how do I get the actual adaptor out of the block? Is it simply pressure fit? I looked for a snap ring, but didn't see one. But I might've missed something.

If anyone has any insight, I'd sure appreciate it.

Thanks,
Ben
