Ok I can see the pictures now. I didn't realize before that the valve is pretty much the same as the Badestnost valves we get here in Europe. In fact, I'm almost sure that Summit just buys the valves from them and rebrand to Summit to sell in the US.

To fix the float issue, you'll need to take the rubber boot out, disassembly the mechanism inside, rotate the base 180 degrees and assembly everything back in place. I'll share some links from Badesnost about the Joystick configs for this valve.

You'll then may need to swap hoses on the lift circuit to get it right. Like pull back to lift and push to lower + float.

For the 3 point, recheck all the hoses. Make sure the Pump line connects to P port, the Tank line from the valve goes back to the transmission case of the tractor and the PB line feeds the remotes in the rear or 3 pt if you don't have remotes.

So are you saying that I should be able to change the float configuration without having the physically rotate the entire unit 180 degrees, just the mechanism inside the boot? That would be great, I am really not wanting to have to reconfigure how I have the valve anchored to the tractor, it took me a better part of a day to figure it all out and get it just where I wanted.

I will double check the lines for the 3pt hitch. I am guessing something is just hooked up wrong, even though I followed the directions.

Yes you can just switch the joystick mechanism on top of the valve, without need to flip the entire valve around. That would be a mess of hoses everywhere.

Found a video of a Joystick installation on a P40 valve. Pretty much the same as yours but with more spools. Note the part at 0:42 is what you need to flip around and the remaining parts should follow that.

So no luck unfortunately.

I swapped the plate around ( the only way it could be swapped, and the change in the direction of the joystick was not good. It made the forward and back motion the tilt function and left and right raise and lower and the to the left was now the float . There is only one way the float function works and there is no way to get that to be when I push the joystick forward to lower and also engage the float function.

I may reach out the summit hydraulics to see if they can make a plate to accommodate this? All it would take is to have a mirror image of the plate as it is right now. Otherwise I will just real with the float as is right now. It works fine, just not ideal.

Good news is that I got the the 3 pt hitch system working. It was a hose that I somehow reversed when installing the valve.

So all in all not too bad , still a bit bummed about the float function but oh well.

Good stuff on the 3 pt.

Unfortunate situation on the float. Yes, try contact Summit, explain your situation, maybe add some pictures and let's see what they suggest.

With the plate reversed, it could still be fixed by swapping the spools, but that requires a bit more work to talk almost the entire valve apart. Let's see what Summit says first. Maybe they offer you a trade for another valve properly setup for your needs.

I heard back from Summit, their response:

You could swap the hoses on the cylinders if swapping the hoses on the valve doesn't work. There is no other way to get this to do reverse float, sorry about that.

Looks like I SOL on this one. Even swapping the hoses on the cylinders does not change the fact that the float function only works pulling the joystick towards me, not away from me. To me it seems like this valve is built backwards but I suppose it is just my situation that makes having the hoses facing away from me necessary and that normally the hoses should be facing you?

I'm not sure, but I suppose I will just have to get used to the float being where it is.
