What, if any, is the difference between synthetic and para-synthetic?

if I had a new tractor and lived in colder areas.. I think I might use synthetics and change at regular intervals just for better cold weather lube and all.. but in florida i can usually mow in my shorts during the winter....

I swithched to Synthetic in mine and it sure quieted it down on cold winter starts. I think that alone says a lot for the lubrication and viscosity qualities. Up here in the North we usually Shovel or snowblow driveways and go snowmobiling?? Soundguy....... Am I missing something? I only own two pairs of shorts. One for the last week of July and one for the first week of August..

What, if any, is the difference between synthetic and para-synthetic?

Synthetic is what it says it is, para synthetic has some synthetic and some dino oil. The real trick, usually, is to find out how much of each there is. If there is an ounce of synthetic in a quart it is still 'para' synthetic. Unless it is real close to the price of dino oil or it actually gives the mix ratio I wouldn't bother with a para synthetic oil. My opinion only.

I use Amsoil's 15-40 synthetic blend in my Kioti, Mule, and ZTR. The Kioti and Mule start well all winter long, had a used oil analysis done several years ago after a full year of use and the oil was still in good shape. I run a straight weight 30 oil in my 73 IH tractor but it doesn't get used in the winter.

I'm not certain.. but I DO believe there is a pic of me floating around here in shorts, cowboy boots and hat, on my rider mower.. my wife snapped it.. been a few years.. but i'm sure it got posted.
