syncro shuttle

:newhere:Just got my new 1533 w/fel last week and have a question about the syncro shuttle. Should I have to come to a complete stop to change gears? Forward and reverse work ---ok---- , but no change on the fly. Clutch is all the way on the bottom. Does anyone know what is the free peddle adjustment range is.

I can only answer a few of your questions. On synchronized transmission you do not need to come to a complete stop when up shifting or down shifting. As far as forward to reverse/reverse to forward you do not need to be stopped, BUT I would not let the clutch out if the tractor is going in one direction and the transmission is going in the opposite direction. ie rolling backwards and letting out the clutch to go forward. Doing this could result in taking the face off the clutch. The free play is at the top of the clutch. On my tractor it is .5 inch (you would need to check your manual for you tractor). You need to have free play, so the clutch does not slip.

I have a new Kioti DS4510HS with hydraulic shuttle.
My dealer advised it is not a true power shuttle
You can change straight from forward to reverse easily while slowly moving i.e. when there is no great load .
I do not think the transmission is synchronised so I do not change on the move up or down (and would rarely need to )



On real steep slopes, changing from forward to reverse or reverse to forward, I use the option of the traditional foot clutch and brake movement as I consider the load on the tractor too high for the shuttle (and also the risk of momentarily going into shuttle neutral) .

The feature is convenient but I would be pretty happy with a manual shuttle.

Gears suit me fine; the range of speed and torque I can get out of all my 4 low range gears is fine

I would appreciate other owners' experience of the various shuttle models out there.
