just purchased a high end 0 turn mower. hyd call for 20/50 engine oil. would I be ahead w/synthetic, or just dyno oil. would synthetic extent the recommended 250 hr. oil/filter changes? oil heats up, but probably no more than engine oil btw would not use mower in the cold! thanks bb

My Toro (exmark) mower uses Mobil 1 synthetic 20/50 for the hydro. Use synthetic. Mine takes about a little more than 1 qt to change oil but probably more for filling the entire system. Mine also calls for 250 hr intervals. Filter and minimal oil is very low cost compared to the hydro motors.

good advice, even though mine takes 5 qts, I'll go w/synthetic. dealer recommends amisol, didn't know they made a 20/50, wanted to stay away from the 5/50 type thanks! bb
