Sweet Home built BX Tractor Cab

Ever since the cold days of last winter ended my neighbor has been puttering on a Cab for his BX 2200. The cab is now complete. I have a series of pictures to post that I think you will enjoy.

The doors have lift off hinges for easy removal during the summer. The front windshield also tilts open.

The front window was made to tilt for ventilation and to allow clearance to remove the loader joy stick control. (On this model BX the loader control comes off with the loader.)

Door open. The handles on the fenders were removed to allow the metal framework to follow the fenders. The handles were relocated for use on the doors.

Finished Rear. The rear panel is held on with clips for easy removal during the summer months.

Thats a great looking cab, but what will keep it from frosting up on the inside from breathing in there when it's 5 degrees out?
does he plan on using some kind of electric defroster?

Yes. Since the pictures were taken he has installed a small electric heater on the ceiling that blows down the front windshield. The BX is designed with the engine mounted in reverse. The cooling fan draws in air through a screen below the steering wheel, in front of the operators legs.

With the cab mounted there is a nice flow of fresh air that gets drawn through the crevices....which I think will aid in keeping the windows clear in the winter.

Wow that's a GREAT job of building!

All that BX needs is a rooftop Air Conditioner and a mini-frig and one could live there in the summer months as well.................

Easy to tell this was built by a true craftsman.

This is an incredible cab. Cudos goes out to your neighbor.

THe only thing Iwould change would be lower the front lights so that they are below the cab roof line and add a rear light.

Other than the mandetory beverage holder and Satellite radio receiver , he's all set.

Very cool.
