While over at my brother's yesterday watching him hook-up his RMM to his new Kubota B7800, I noticed his sway chains / links had holes through the threaded portion that allows you to put a spring pin into the hole. This prevents the sway chain / links from loosening during use. My first thought was, I wish my JD 4100 had those holes, as I am always hopping off the tractor while mowing to tighten the sway bars. Well, wouldn't you know it, I get home and look and I DO have those holes. I go to my manual right away and it mentions them in the manual. So I went on-line to JD Parts and ordered (4) of them for ~ $ 3. This begs the question, did everyone get these with their tractor ? My 4010 turnbuckles came with pins to hold them in place. I looked at them and viewed them as unusable and a royal nuisance. I just tighten mine and use tension cords to keep them there. I just hook the other end of each cord on a hole in the ROPS. Mine have never loosened.

Main problem I have is getting them straight onto the loops so I can tighten them correctly. Didn't do this once, and my LX4 swung over and caused one of the lift arms to rub on a rear tire. Just didn't get it tight because it wasn't seated properly in a loop at each end of the turnbuckles.

Mine are bars with holes in them and no adjustment. There are numerous round holes and also some slotted holes to allow a little "give"
