I will be pulling the trigger on a new SVL75 next week, and wanted some thoughts on upgrading to the wide tracks. Dealer says they are not necessary, but I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't help with traction, especially in muddy conditions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've had the SVL75 in pretty deep a few times with standard tracks and got out with a little work. A couple of times I thought I was goner for sure, especially when I looked out and couldn't see the top of the tracks. If you ran the wider tracks, I wonder if seeing the corners of the wider bucket would be a pain.

I would go for the wider tracks myself, better floatation in all circumstances. I really don't see a downside to it unless you are working where the extra width would limit access to certain jobs. As far as seeing the corners of a wider bucket the visibility is so good out of those machines I don't think it would be a problem.
