Surface rust on new 8TL FEL

Sunshine, blue sky, puffy white clouds...beautiful day.

Also drove through Deere, Mahindra and NH.

Each only had 1 or 2 tractors on the lot, nothing in the size looking for or with a Cab.

Inventories are generally way down compared to a couple of years ago. Its hard to believe that they wouldn't be thrilled to help you. Even though I am not a tractor salesman I would LOVE to help a guy buy his wife a new tractor.

Bobcat does not have the finish quality on their loaders quite up to snuff with all their competitors. They do seem to put plenty of material in them, and the price difference overcame some of these imperfections for me.

Mine has had rust on it from day one and that is the only bad thing I can say about this machine is the paint job, or lack thereof. I am in south Louisiana so unlike some people rust is a Major issue here. **** even plastic wants to rust here with the humidity!

I talked to my dealer about the rust on the loader and they were very receptive to getting the problem fixed. So I'm happy with that.
The tractor has been great and the few questions that came up as I started to use the tractor and get familiar with what I can, as well as can't do with it have all been dealt with by the dealer. I've always owned Kubotas prior to this tractor, so that's what I end up comparing the Bobcat to and so far the CT335 has been fun to own, and finally having a cab on the tractor for the winter is so nice.

How about some photos of your cabbed tractor...I have tried to see one and so far can't find even one.

I have the same thing on my tractor but I've just started spraying the areas with Fluid Film while the unit is stored.

before I bought my CT235 this last fall I too considered the CT335 and it had the rust like you all are talking about, seems to be an issue with the bobcat made FEL vs the RHINO they used to use

I have the original Rhino made variety and it is rusted too, as a matter of fact exactly as he has shown and described. My dealer was very very receptive to my problem. They handed me a can of primer and white spray paint and said "here this ought to cover it." I kid you not. At least it was Bobcat paint cans!

Good reason to look at your tractor with a fine tooth comb before driving off the lot and onto the transport trailer.

One thing I want to point out, white is the best 'color' to paint anything if you want to spot early rust or bleed through. All other colors help to conceal those rust spots. Painting your tractor or equipment white takes a certain amount of self-confidence.

I remember a couple of decades ago we (USAF) had received several thousand vehicles from a manufacturer and ALL of them had such bad paint prep that you could rip the paint off in sheets. Local body shops had a really good year doing contracted warranty work.
