I am looking to purchase a TC33D and need some information on the SuperSteer option. I will be purchasing the 7308 loader with the tractor and I have concerns about long-term durability with regard to the SuperSteer. If anyone has a TC33D with the loader and SuperSteer, any feedback with regard to durability and overall performance will be appreciated. I also understand that when the tractor is purchased with SuperSteer, the Sensitrak system comes with it. More moving parts to be concerned about?? Thanks.

Jay, I just bought a NH TN90F, with its boomer/utility size and ag power, with SS and traction management (probably same as sensitrak on your prospective Boomer--comes on with demand).

The 12 year service (or lack of need for...) record of my 1720 was all the justification I needed. BTW I had the 7108 loader on it. It's no Alo/Quicke, but was good for me.

You haven't lived until your SuperSteer tractor turns completely around in LESS than its own length /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif.

Couldn't pry /w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif either one of those features away from me and I have neither seen nor heard of any problems. Yes, the electronics on modern tractors are complex, but the benefits are enormous.

my Tn90F has 8XXX hours on it now and it hasnt had any problems with the super steer. I keep the joints lubed. The pin needs to be checked but if its good, Its an awesome thing being able to pivot right around your rear inner tire. The front wheels almost go 90 degrees to the rear ones.

I think some people have had problems with wear on the "pin" I dont know the exact name of it, but the bushing can get worn.

On my tractor alot of the electronic stuff has been bypassed as the switches and stuff wore out over time. The 4x4 and differential lock are still working like stock. and thats pretty much what i care about

TN90F's have no zerk to lube the main SuperSteer pivot spherical bearing. Later 95F's can be relubed. Any TN90F's we service have needed the spherical bearing replaced around 4000 hours. You can check yours by jacking the front bolster and checking movement between the axle and bolster as the bolster/engine is raised.

Jay,

I have a TC29D with Super-Steer and a 7308 loader. I have over 600 hours on mine with no problems. Other than one time I turned the steering wheel really tight to the right backing up on concrete and pulled the tire off the rim. Well the tire was low so that didn't help either.

Super-Steer is nice for mowing around trees etc. But it is not nice for loader work. You lose your stability when the front axle turns. My recommendation if doing a lot of loader work is to stay away from Super-Steer. jmo

One ting New Holland could do would be to have a valve or switch to turn Super-Steer off for when a guy is doing loader work.

I realize the post was old, but i hate searching for answers and finding only questions. ;-)

As part of the supersteer, there is a shock absorber on each side of the frame. These shocks have cone shaped bushings at both ends. On my tractor, these cone shaped bushings are not tight to the frame where they attach. This is probably from age. I am thinking they should be tightened up to remove any free play, but can't find any information in the service manual concerning how tight they should be or if they should be hanging free. The only reference I can find is to remove them during front axle R&R, nothing on reinstalling, torque or free play. Anyone out there know what the score is on the shocks?
