My 2002 TC40DA that I've had since 4/07 has SS and I love the short turning radius. Very useful in the woods on tight trails. How long has SS been around? Any long term reliability issues? Since I don't know how conscientiously the maintenance schedule was followed on my tractor, I'm debating trading on new tractor and question possible long term problems. I have found and replaced 2 zerks in front end that were clogged and I'm sure not greased in recent past before I got it.

The supersteer has been around since the mid to late 90's that I know of. The first tractors I recall ever seeing it on was the Ford/New Holland Genesis tractors (also known as the 70 series). So far I have only known of one problem with the supersteer failing and that was because of the owner not looking at their tractor. I would not be worried at all about your system.

When did Kubota start using Supersteer and on what models? Supersteer is a Ford/NH thing as as far as I know only Ford/NH tractors have the rights to use it.

Kubotasrking, I suspect you're referring to the Kubota BiSpeed turning where the front wheels engage a slightly faster gear to help pull the tractor around when near full lock.
The SuperSteer pivots the front axle at the same time as the wheels steer, to achieve a tight turning circle.

I have had mine since 1998 on my 1530. Never had any problems. It makes a great mowing rig with a hrdro transmission. One of the real advantages is the increased wheel base that the supersteer system gives you. My tractor is rock solid on ground that I would not consider with the wife's TC23. The turf tires help too.

Just today I was setting up the tractor to go forward & then backward (& then forward AGAIN) to align myself to push some material forward. Well I surprised myself when I was going forward..... got up to the material & I was already aligned. Gave me a quick smile because I know you would not have beeen able to do that little quick maneuvre with a non-SS tractor.
What an incredible (over & over & over) nice feature. Have had the tractor now for 3 years & have used TIGHT turns (over & over & over) again.
I Love it !!
and of course the tractor !!
