EarthForce EF-5 mini-TLB (2001)
Does anybody know anything about these machines? Or have a dealer nearby that they could go kick the tires on and ask some questions for me?

They're made in Czechoslovakia (sp?) and use Kubota engines. They appear to be similar to the L35/L48's but have 4-wheel steering, and range in size up to about double the L48 in capacity - I don't know about weight.

I'm wondering if these machines are really as good as they look. Do they have a rear PTO and 3-point hitch that would allow them to be used as a regular tractor? Does the 3-point hitch stay on the machine when the backhoe is installed? Do they have HST trans, etc. etc.

I work for a dealer on WPA and we sell and service these Earthforce EF series. Just sold another one today! EF-1.

Interesting that he didn't really answer your question, eh?

Anyhow, got my interest. I'm sure you've already done what I did, but did you see this link?

I started there, and then found the dealer through their listing.

Mark,

I have read in other threads that you used to have an L48? That you added larger cylinders? How did they work? Do you think it caused any long term damage to the structure or made it significantly more dangerous?

Hope to hear a reply. BTW- I own an L48 with 56hr, and have liked it but want more.
Gray.

Ingersoll/Melroe Bobcat bought them out a year or so ago. Thats where their new line of Earthforce came from. From the ones Ive seen the only thing that held them back was the little known name.

I'm starting to see the ingersoll badged ones on the used market lately for decent prices... If ingersoll ever figures out how to market these things or more exactly to market them , then I think they would sell well.

I checked out the Bobcat site and they now have TLBs that appear to be Earthforce machines in white. (B100, B250, & B300)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe Bobcat had TLBs until they acquired Earthforce.

You are correct... The smaller Earthforce machines became Bobcat machines and the larger models became Ingersolls. I understand the Bobcat machines are fairly popular. I couldn't even find the Ingersolls online but I havn't looked lately.
