Some time back I picked up a spray bottle of Super Clean after seeing an ad on TV.

When I removed my front snowblower this spring, the left side was covered in soot as usual.
Well,I sprayed some Super Clean on it and tried to rinse it off with the water hose.
No dice!
So I wiped it off with a cloth and the soot wiped off nicely.

I usually wash the tractor with a brush and hose, but I had the pressure washer out and thought about the soot on the loader parts.I sprayed it on the darkened parts of the loader I could get to and by some pins where the oil from the grease had oozed out over time.
After a quick cab wash and rinse,I hit the areas I treated.
Wow,the soot washed right away with minimal pressure and those oily areas look like new!
My loader hasn't looked this good in awhile.

It's like $7 at NAPA,if you'd like to try it.
Wife likes to pre-treat clothes with it.

Hope this helps somebody.

Good Luck!

Interesting. I got a whole 1 gallon jug of that in my shop, unopened. I've had it for about a decade now.

Hmm... I need to try it out to control the soot build up on my loader.

Though I'm afraid if I clean my tractor too much, people may think I never use it. :dance1:

The Power Purple cleaner at most stores is a knock off version of Castrol's Super Clean. I keep a 2 1/2 gallon jug handy for alot of things, most importantly, I soak my Auto-5 Mag 12 in the stuff at the end of the season, cleans everything out except for the plastic fouling.

If you have a tough cleaning job, like heavy degreasing, I use original powdered Tide and make a soup out of it, but you have to be careful with it, it will strip the paint if allowed to remain for too long.

+1 on the 2.5 gallon jug of Purple Power.

Works great, but would caution to test on painted surfaces if allowing it to set for prolong periods. I once had it discolor the green paint on a JD Tractor backhoe attachments. It cleaned up the grease around the pins on the backhoe, but also discolored the paint used on the BH. Did leave the cleaner on for sometime to help breakdown the old hardened grease residue.

Thanks for sharing  I'll be checking it out.
