Hey all.

I have been posting questions in the vintage tractor section and I suppose it maybe the wrong forum. The responses I had been getting stopped.

Anyway, I am in the midst of restoring a 1951 Super C and would like to know if there is a seal or sealed bearing of some kind that goes inside of the back portion of the fan hub to seal it from the hub oil leaking out.

When I removed the fan and hub it looked as if there was remnants of steel or hardened rubber.

Any help if appreciated.

Thanks

The vintage tractor forum is the proper place ON THIS SITE for your questions, but the problem is, that's not where guys with interest, experience, and expertise with vintage tractors go to hang out regularly.

Go here:
Farmall & IHC Tractors Discussion Board

Or here:
Red Power Magazine Community -> General IH
and get great feedback from the experts.

I believe it was a leather one originally but yes there is a seal in there on mine. If you need a good place to look up factory parts for it then try any international dealer. They should have it. I got my parts from the one I was working at in Pa real easy. Our parts guy had been behind the counter since that tractor was new.

When you fill the hub it only takes a small amount. Fill it with th ehole up then turn it down with the hole on the bottom. There is a small standpipe in there that will let all but the right amount run out so it won't leak out the back.
