I bought a couple from lowes a month ago- had to special order them (shipped to store), but free shipping and excellent price.

I just got some weights from Lowes

42lbs for $53 tax included. So $126 per lb.

Vs Kubota weights

55lbs for $71 ?? tax. So $1.29 per lb.

I just happended to think you can save 5% if you use a Lowes Credit card.

I'm guessing you don't want green weights, but they are even less expensive at 47$ for the 42lbs weight

Color does not matter but I don't think the little deere on them would look good on a BX.

Some stores stock them, some dont. They will ship to store for free, or they told me ship to home for free, but only 1, order 2 or more and shipping gets charged.

The ones I got were the Troy Built ones in this link. They were 49.95 + tax = $53 each.

Shop suitcase weights at Lowes.com: Search Results

They have the Green JD ones, The black Troy Built ones or the Arnold ones (plastic coated).

They are 55lbs each.

Obviously you've had this working for a while now, but I dug out a BX18/2200 manual that I'm mailing this afternoon to another member. I opened it to a random page this morning and it talked about ballast. I believe it said 275 lbs max. You are at 550 with 10 of them. Are you at all concerned about the front end on this rig?

Not at all. Two and a half years and counting since completion and used daily. I really had no choice in the matter. Customer had the BX1800 on hand and this was the resurfacer he wanted mounted to it. He's also an engineer so he understands these things. He just told me to make it happen. He is very pleased with the outcome, I'm paid in full and everyone is Happy, Happy, Happy

I should have thought over that question before I even posted it. Duh! The loader is 400 lbs and they lift more than 175 lbs. I guess maybe that's a limit for the stock weight holder. And nothing you've touched is stock.

So I guess I'm happy too.

I actually thought it was a great question and observation on your part. The resurfacer never comes off the tractor. It's used only for that purpose and even though there's a lot of weight on the front you could almost pick the front up because of the weight of the resurfacer so I was never concerned about it. Like you said. Put an FEL in there and factor in what it will lift and your well over those weights. Ya I'll admit I tend to mod a bit
