Suggestions on a "bombproof" phone case that will offer great protection?

Hello everyone. What case, if any, do you use to protect your phone from disaster?

Zombie thread, but two years ago I bought a Samsung designed for hard use. I never got around to buying a case but from that standpoint it's stood up well. I wouldn't dare guess how many times it's been dropped, wet, or otherwise abused. The only drawback is that it's tied to Google.

Pick your poison. Get an I-phone and you (even more) tied to Apple. 6 of one, half dozen of the other.
