Hello everybody,
First post on here and first tractor I ever owned. Was just wanting to see if you guys could help me out on a decision I am making.
I am about to place a order with Compact Tractor Box Scraper by Everything Attachments for a Box blade and a auger.
I was going to originally buy the 48" box blade then saw they had a 54" and the person I spoke with on the phone said it would work
with my Bx25D. I thought I might make a account on here and see what others experience have been.

I am leaning towards the 54" but seems most use the 48" so I'm a little hesitant.

Thanks

Do you mean a 60" or 5ft? I have not heard of the 54". What is the hp of your tractor? What is the weight of the two box blades?

Hi. Welcome. If your doing a lot of blade work the larger the more you get done in the allotted time.

Here is the link Compact Tractor Box Scraper by Everything Attachments they have 48", 54", 60", 66" and 72".

The 48" is 355lbs and the 54" is 370lbs.
From what I'm understanding is that the 54" has the same amount of rippers as the 48" but has half a foot more box.
Which seems like a happy compromise between a 48" and a 60".

I know people say the Bx25D can't pull a 60" very well if at all sometimes.
My tractor has 23HP

I don't have a box blade, but I would go with the 54, all other things being equal (except, weight and price).

We posted at the same time. Your link goes to their main page. I believe this is the one you're looking at:

LOL, Thanks I fixed it. I guess I had the main address in my clipboard and didn't realize it.

Hi. Welcome. If your doing a lot of blade work the larger the more you get done in the allotted time.

The person I spoke to at everything attachment told me since it had the same rippers its just a little bigger box which is nice for getting closer to stuff since its slightly bigger than the tractor.

You want it to be a couple inches wider than the width of the rear tires, and no bigger. Since that is a light tractor with small tires, you are going to be weak on traction and that will be your limiting factor. When a box blade fills up, it creates quite a drag on a tractor.

For a big heavy tractor, you can go wider, but for something small and light, you want to cover your tracks and that's it.

I had a 54" box on my B2920 (quite a bit bigger and heavier than a BX) and that was enough to stop the tractor dead with spinning wheels sometimes. On my much larger L3200, I have a 60" box. Doing the math in my head, I'd say 48" for a BX.

Had a 48" woods on my BX2200 and I wouldn't recommend any bigger for your application. It was more than enough to stop the tractor..
