I had just started mowing. When all of a sudden. The ditch was a little closer than I expected.

Kinda wishing I had that problem in a Buffalo Ny winter, in February.......

Bet there was quick chill thru ole body..glad no roll over.

Holy cow, that is way over on the tilt meter. Glad no rollover.

I once pulled over on the side of a road onto what I thought was a snow covered shoulder. Nope, ditch.

Ok now how do/did you get out of this situation?
Drive into the ditch, get something to pull the tractor out?

Fairly easy to get out (except looks like you have the individual brakes on the right side so can't use them).

Raise the rotary cutter (adds weight to the rear wheels). Hold right wheel brake on and back up. Locking the differential might work, but braking the right wheel will put all the torque on the left wheel while you back out. Turn the wheels to bring the cutter deck up hill.

(never understood the comments about changing shorts...I think it is a myth and never happens :) )

Ya I know. Why do they talk about changing shorts and the pucker factor at the same time? :D I'm pretty shure the pucker factor would have kicked in if that were me.

Well I've never really understood the "pucker" thing. Does it mean you are getting ready to kiss you're rear end goodbye? :p

It refers to your butt cheeks trying to help you stay in the seat, its the mark in the fabric when you dismount.

I think I would put some tree stakes out along that ditch- so next time you can get really close- without going in :)

doesnt look that tippy... (could just be the pic angles)

looks like you could have picked the 3pt up, steared into the ditch and powered out of it.
