I had every barn torn down in hurricane so I have not been able to park the tractors under cover for over a month . My NH tl100 does not have a loader yet (it will be in next week) so it has seen limited use during clean up. I used it a couple weeks ago to drag some large logs and trees and it sat for 2 weeks , during that time we got about 7" of rain and when I went to put it under the new barn I built last weekend it would not go into gear while running. I had a stuck clutch a couple of years ago and symptoms were the same and previous time it was a simple remedy of just driving it a few minutes .

I tried that again and no luck . I tried hitting the brakes , starting in gear , putting against a tree , pulling logs and still no luck. talked with a couple of mechanics and all recommend what I had tried . I Cut a block on monday and left clutch depressed for 2 days . yesterday I backed it out from under the barn with intentions of hooking it to the bottom plow and plowing till something broke. I decided one more try on getting it in road gear was warranted . I got the usual resistance when trying to push it in but this time it didn't start creeping like before and all of sudden it just fell in gear. nothing broke and works like it should . I did however block the clutch just to make sure .

I leave tractor clutches blocked if I do not plan to use them again for just a few days.

When I have had this problem it was because oil had gotten on disc (rear main or trans) and was causing it to stick after burning in.
Leaving it blocked is the best thing for it if you don't want to take it apart now.

On my Kubota there pin to push on pedal arm which disengage clutch and recommend to use everytime time tractor sets day or more.
Some cut block wood others use wire etc. anything better than tear down.

Normal if tractor is in humid area the clutch disk can form a rust bond between disk and flywheel.... By blocking clutch depresses you take the "pressure" off it and it is able to release on its own (sometimes/maybe)...

Try dragging cars out of fields that have had emergency/parking brake set for years and brake shoes are rusted solid to drum.... Real challenge... Sometimes hitting backing plates with large hammer will release them, sometimes not....
