Check with your local auto parts dealer. He'll probably have some self tapping, oversize plugs.

I remember when I was a kid we stripped a spark plug hole on an old Evinrude outboard motor. My dad got something called a "heli-coil" (not sure of spelling..) and that solved the problem in this case.

I know when I changed my oil for the first time both of my drainplugs were just barely snug. They have that rubber gasket setup that's a little different. They didn't tighten up like automotive style drainplugs.

If this is a brand new tractor purchased from a dealer, I would think it could be covered unver warrenty. I do not believe that a helicoil is the fix for this application. The stripped out drain plug repair kit is your next best option, but they reduce the flow considerbly. I would pull the pan, and get it fixed properly. Even if that ment welding in a new fine thread nut to the pan. If the helicoil fix leaks, or cuts loose under operation, and you dump your oil, it could be a costly mistake. Don't mean to put fear into you, but when you go operational, I would leave nothing like that to chance.

No, sorry.. but I'm just curious.. how much does a whole new pan cost? How big a hassle to install it? Might be easier in the long run than messing around with this stripped bolt-hole problem? And in the process you could replace the gasket, clean out any crud, see the condition of the connecting rod bushings, etc...?
Probably a dumb thought..?

Well, dumb minds must think alike cause I was thinking the same thing. At least remove it to do a good job of repair. But, then I started thinking that my pan doesn't leak now and don't want to cause another problem by disturbing that seal etc. I dunno... still pondering.

I kinda go with Trev on this one. It may be much less hassle and a better fix all around to just buy a new pan. Generally speaking, Kioti parts tend to be much less expensive than many other brands, so you may be able to get one cheap enough to make it worthwhile.
You could get into filling and retapping and all of that, but a new one would be best.
