Has anybody replaced the head of their string trimmer with any of the aftermarket heads that you see advertised ?
On TV you see the adds for "Weed Trasher", I saw an add the other nite for one called "Load -n- Cut"
The factory head on my Ryobi has bit the big one and I am looking for something to replace it with, besides another standard type string head.
Any ideas or suggestions ?

I swapped out the head of a Ryobi I had a couple of trimmers ago. It was the head with the three plastic knives. It worked really well on open grass, but the blades wore-out quickly if you bumped them against concrete as I usually did. (Trimming against the foundation) The good part was that the blades were replaceable. I would recommend them only if you cut only grass/weeds and don't have many obstacles to bump.

Dave,
I just returned oneof those to my local hardware store, still in it's original package. I just knew that I'd constantly be replacing the plastic knives.
