String trimmer and attachments

Finally decided on new trimmer, Cub Cadet was $199 at TSC so went to Lowes and got the same one there for $169. I got the pole saw and the tiller attachment. I have tried the pole saw and works real well, I didn't expect it to cut as good as it does, could use this thing for a chain saw. It's rained here all week so didn't get to try out the rest of it, if they work as well as the saw, I'll be really pleased. I did notice that it seems cold natured, and there are no adjustments on the carb, only idle speed screw, I suppose they're trying to get the 2 cycle as clean as they can. I wonder how durable the driveshaft is going to be and I'm going to try to find an extra extension for the pole saw, that'll give me almost three more feet of reach. Anybody know if I can get an extension or anyone had trouble with the shaft breaking I'd like to hear about it. I know that the Echo guarantees their shaft for life.

I think your cub is an mtd. mtd bought out cub a few years ago.I don't think the riding mowers are as good as they were when built by cub.I dont know about there trimmers. There should be an 800 # on the box or manual that you can call and ask about the extension. as far as the flex cable goes, I have had flex cable trimmers in the past & the cables always broke.Thats why I only trimmers with solid steel shafts now.
