I was trying to think of an example of a major corporation that went under because they paid their workers too well.

There must be some examples of that happening.

GM had to go through bankruptcy to shed their unstainable union contracts...

UAW took it on the shorts on that one.

Forgot about that one. Actually had a relative who got shafted in that deal somehow and he wasn't even union. He was quite bitter and had much to say about unions and their crazy contracts after that.

Thus, I will never again buy a GM or a Mopar for that matter. Government bailout is "free" enterprise??

UAW is doing to deere what they did to GM. Deers's out will be bankruptcy, but it can reorganize in bankruptcy and come out stronger without the labor stranglehold. Employees have no out.

There is a limit on how much labor costs a company can afford.

You won’t live long enough to see Deere bankrupt. Deere calls this offer their highest and best. Plan on this strike lasting into 2022.
