Speaking of straw....
I just finished covering 1 1/2 acres of (hopefully) new lawn with six of the 5' X 5' round bales. Around here they go for $15.00 bale and a round bale yields ~12 to 15 square bales.
Also I found that wheat straw was MUCH, MUCH easier to lay than the rest. It also helps if the straw wasn't cut too high.
Now I'm praying for rain......
