Our weiney dog ran a tight ship in the back yard.

Squirrels were his nemesis

He was sitting under one of the oak trees looking up at a squirrel.

All of a sudden a half eaten apple comes tumbling out of the oak tree and misses him by a couple feet

I told my wife, if we find him laid out in the yard with a half eaten apple next to him, we will know the squirrel won

I let the heathen (Sasha) in today for the first time. She did some exploring, then her and Gypsy decided to play.

I let them go at it for about a 1/2hr and then took Sasha back to her pen.

Gypsy is an old girl and was trying to keep up with the ball of energy.

After Sasha went back out, Gypsy passed smooth out

Reminds me of when I was a kid.
I snuck up on the cat sleeping on the couch.
I screamed in his ear.
Cats are fast. I had more claw holes in my head than if I'd been shot with the Phalanx CRWS.
Couldn't tell Ma and Pa or I'd have to admit what I had done.

My brother and I tried to give the cat a bath at 2yo. We had just witnessed mom the day before give the cat a flea dip.

There was only one water source immediately available to two 2yo...... the toilet

Mom heard splash, splash, splash..... then the cat yowl, then my brother and I crying with the cat streaking out of the bathroom soaking wet

We've got a picture somewhere in our family of my parent's big orange tomcat sitting in a bubble bath with my two oldest siblings. The cat was wearing a pointy party hat with a rubber band under his chin. They said he liked to hop into the bath with them. They also said the neighbor's dog would cross the street to avoid him.

We got a rescue about 18 months ago. She has been sleeping on an old quilt. I decided that she might like a real bed.

"Ellie" was a kitten we rescued on a cold rainy night. She was full of fleas and we cleaned her up, showed her where the food and water was. She was a barn cat. And not really a domestic cat. She had, I think, a great 10 years, sometimes being involved with people. She was more about being a cat, and doing cat things. She was starting to have health issues.
In the middle of one night, I awake, and Ellie is kissing me all over the face and purring. She had never done this before. And was rarely in the house to do so. Later find out Ellie had done the same to my then partner about the same time. It was a strange experience. We never saw her again after that day. I think she was say'en "Goodby and Thank You."
