Strange things your pets do...

this horse is super sweet. i would never be worried she would hurt me. shes just a food junkie.

has all sweet teeth.....


our neighbor has a sweet german shepherd that comes to visit every day. just wish he would stop peeing on my shop wall near man door. nasty habit.

Neighbor had a Siberian husky that used to come visit. She was a sweet heart with tons of personality. She would bark when I was outside to get my attention, then come running up. She would then tuck into my side for scratches, flop on her back for a belly rub. Then the talking started She loved to talk. She would start with the yowls, yips, and chuffs. I would ask how her day was going. She would respond. Ask if she got any good treats on her rounds. She would respond. This would go on for 5 minutes or so till my wife was laughing her butt off

She managed to squeeze her fat booty through the doggy door designed for a small dog or large cat one day. She couldn't get back out. I came home, looked at that back door and did a double take when I realized there was three dogs in our sunroom instead of 2 of course peanut towered over our two dogs.

She was parked right between our two dogs waiting patiently for me to let them in

She was also the same dog that I've posted about before that used to con me into giving her a ride home.

I was heart broken when my neighbor had to put her down due to bone cancer. I really looked forward to her visits.

I was sitting at the dining room table the other night with my wife and one of our kids doing a puzzle. All of a sudden I felt claws in my left kidney area. I look down behind me and the kid's cat, who absolutely does not like me and never lets me near her, has her paw on my back putting her claws through my shirt into my skin. I asked her "What are you doing?" She meowed and walked towards her room... her food bowl was empty!

I learned fast that it was a much saner household if I gave the bowl a quick shake as I was walking through the kitchen.

Cat would only eat the food in the center of the bowl.

I might have mentioned it earlier in the thread, one of our current cats reaches into the bowl and pulls out one piece of kibble with her paw. It lands on the floor, she eats it, repeats. Takes her 10 minutes to eat. She's a weird cat.

Holy cow. Our kitty does the same thing. He has a silver bowl and eats down the middle. Once any silver is showing —- STOP. Looks up. Meows.

He also will not drink water left in his bowl over 8 hours. Shows difference between cats and dogs. Our dog will drink water from the gravel drive that has been sitting 3 days. The kitty - oh the horror!!!

I haven't owned a boring pet yet. And each one had a distinct personality.

My shepherd is that way about her water. I change out her water bowl in the house and sunroom nightly. The only exception is her kiddy pool. She gets that changed once a week.

She won't eat her food if the bowl isn't where it's supposed to be. If you put it out for her and place the bowl in a different spot, she won't touch it.

My dog would rather drink out of a puddle than that nice clean water in his dish. He also won't get into the truck if he has to step into a puddle to do so... which isn't a bad thing.

I think they think it adds to the flavor. 3 days is nothing, add some cattle carp draining into the puddle and it becomes a delicacy.

This is our kitty. He is fascinated by birds as well. He can sit on the screen porch for hours looking.

He also watches for any chance possible to escape through the door if someone comes in it out.

HA - my Cocker Spaniel has a "tell" when we go to bed. If he brings his little fuzzy bear with him - he's ready to go to sleep. If he brings one of his chew toys - he's ready to play and sleep is not on his mind. Here he was at three months. He is the toughest dude on the front porch and nobody, but nobody, is going to touch him with that brush. View attachment 682114

Am I the only one with a dog who loves carrots? Also oranges, peeled cucumbers, apples... The first year that I had him I planted my potatoes after work one night, then called my mother while parked by the garden. It got dark as we talked but I could hear the dog gnawing on a potato, and thought I must have dropped one. Pretty soon he came back with another, then a third one; wow, I must have dropped more than I had realized. The next day I went out and the little bugger had been digging up the hills I had planted.

Carrots, celery, broccoli, etc... He's gotten apples that fell and he picks his own cucumbers and lettuce leaves!?!? Need to work on his training but it's just too funny to watch!!!

My brothers dog has to get a carrot at bed time because the rabbit gets one.

My shepherd likes apples. When ever I chop one up with the apple slicer, she's right there for her slice

Gramps had a black lab/ springer mix. He always had to greet you with something in his mouth. Gramps used to get pretty mad if someone would pull up while the dog was with him in the garden. He would snatch a cucumber, zucchini, squash, or what ever else was handy and give it to whomever arrived.

If it was ripe, I would just take the offered prize into the house, wash it and leave it by the sink so they could have it with dinner. He had a soft bite so his teeth wouldn't puncture the vegetable.

Our late weiney dog used to sit under the fig tree and demand his treat He would also prune the low hanging cherry tomatoes off the vine.

Both my heeler and border collie like to eat barnacles on the beach. They chew them off of rocks.
