I've seen a strange scenario from he 60" deck on my 5252.
I'm mowing dry grass but for some reason, the left rear wheel on the deck loads up with grass and then flips off a 12" x 2" patch every 100 feet or so. nothing accumulates on the other three wheels, weird. I'm thinking of swapping wheels around? Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Curt

OhioGuy,

I notice the same thing on my 520xi Wheel Horse's 60" deck wheel when the grass is still somewhat wet. I've never noticed this to happen with dry grass cutting conditions. Where do you live in N E Ohio. I live in Conneaut. in Ashtabula county.

Has it always done this or just recently? Sound like the deck might not be discharging correctly.

I'm wondering if one of the under-deck skirts or baffles is out of place causing stuff to blow out onto the wheel? Is everything as level as possible? Even tire press, gauge wheels set level? Maybe you need a mini kick-bailer to toss those patches into a wagon /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif!

This is a new tractor, I've mowed about 5 times with it. I didn't notice this symptom until two mowings ago. I don't think the baffles are creating the problem, when I look at that wheel, it just seemed to accumulate grass and the other 3 wheels don't.

I painfully remember last years wet spring when you had to mow wet grass just trying to keep up. There were these big flaps of grass flying off all four wheels, it was such a painful mowing experience.

But in dry grass, on one wheel?

I'm just south of Akron, in Clinton.

Curt, it's gotta be that's just where the wettest of the mowed clippings winds up. Is their any way to get those wheels off the ground slightly?

Hey Joel,

That makes the most sense, that it's just wetter there! This deck is ground following so about all I could do would be swap wheels thinking its something to do with the tire composition or maybe email Cub Cadet.

I'll bet it clears up a little later in the summer when things really dry out or maybe I'm mowing just late enough in the evening that a little dew is present.

Why, ask why, as the Bud commercial goes!

If this is my biggest problem in life, I'm in pretty good shape.
Thanks,
Curt
