Strange Electrical Issue

My YM 2000B won't start...here are the symptoms, (battery is charged & good) When I trun the key, I have gauge lights, turn to start and hear a click and then nothing. Next turn there are no gauge lights, everything is dead. Wait a few minutes and turn of the key makes gauge lights to work again, nothing else. I am guessing there is a relay somewhere I am not aware of? Does anyone know? If you can help me locate and fix the problem I would be much obliged!

Sounds like dirty battery cables to me.

Yep, my 2301 does the same thing when the cables get dirty. Try pulling them and cleaning the battery terminals and cable ends.

make sure that you clean BOTH ends of the battery cables. That is almost for sure what it is.

*Update* You guys were right on! And I didn't think it could be that...my battery terminals were clean and I use a quick disconnect to prevent drain while I am away, but it was the lead going to the starter. Cleaned it up, tightened it and she fired right up! Thanks for the help!
