This tongue is 2x3" and amazingly weak. I tried to straighten it for the heck of it with a hammer and it flattened after a couple hits. Now I understand why it bent so easy in what was an extremely low speed accident (15 mph).
I'll hopefully get the new tongue next week, cut it to size and then bolt on the coupler and bolt it to the trailer. Luckily I don't use this trailer for anything heavier than about 500 lbs, even though its rated for a thousand I'm not sure I'd trust it.
