Storm water management

Never seen it done like this before just dumping it on the sidewalk. Some house have 3 or 4 on support pole dumping from 15 or 20 feet up.

I've never seen it done that way either. Better than letting your property flood. That is if the municipal storm drain system is able to handle it.

Have seen the second example, never the first. Normally they would run the downspout to the ground before pushing it away from the house.

It looks to me like all of them used to go under ground and discharge at road level. I’m guess over the year pipe got clogged/damaged so this is an easy “fix”. I have no problem with it just found it interesting and different.

Yep. Water has to go somewhere and it is a heck of a lot better than on your own little lot or the neighbor's.

Lots of laces the local “Officials” would not like the second one. Insurance guy wouldn’t be too happy about it either if in a freeze zone.
From the overall look of things; sidewalk and house both neglected, doubt anyone is overly concerned.

What funny is there is a major research hospital within walking distance and 90% of the people on the street are doctors or high level nurses/etc.
