A regional outbreak of severe thunderstorms is expected on Wednesday
across the Lower Mississippi Valley and Southeast. All severe
hazards are possible, including widespread damaging winds, some over
75 mph, and several tornadoes, some of which could be strong (EF2+).

I'm beginning to think that the northern gulf area isn't a good place to live if you don't like being pummeled by severe weather or hurricanes.

Maybe not, but at least we don't have to deal with several feet of snow and ice every year. The occasional snow we do get is a nice reminder why I don't live in the north anymore.

Here in the metroplex it was Windy (strong sustained winds) for the last 24-48. Right now the rain is coming down pretty good. 320 am Wednesday. Our weather moves east, so buckle up.

I'm right on the southwest edge of the pink area. Winds are steady 30mph right now. Weatherman says winds will get up to 50 mph by late morning. And 75 mph when the front comes thru. Hold on!!!

Keep an eye on the SPC site as well as your local NWS site(s). Don't be too surprised if they upgrade to a HIGH risk on the next outlook at 8AM Central time.

It was a pretty dismal year here, as well. We did get a few storms but winter came late and left early. Yet there's no such thing as an early spring... all that I have to look forward to now is an extended mud season.

I can deal with the snow we get up here a lot easier than I can deal with the heat an humidity in the south. Besides, a nice foot deep layer of snow looks a lot better than a bunch of brown grass. The slick roads thin out the number of idiot drivers too.
I can put on enough clothes to stay warm up here, but can't take off enough clothes to stay cool down south, without getting arrested. Besides, I get really cranky when I'm hot and sweaty from any kind of outside work in 90°+ temperatures.
