Security & Theft Stolen Tractor

Did not think it could happen to me but my transport containers were broken into, my beloved Kubota, bush bull, fel root graple and 2000 polaris 500 stolen between 1-4 Jan 2012 in Calhoun County, SC near St. Mathews. I will post serial numbers later with a $1000 reward for arrest conviction, and return of equipment.

Sorry you lost your tractor and other equipment, what a way to ruin the new year. Hopefully you had insurance as I suspect the recovery rate may be on the low side.

This is a serious bummer. More than what the thief takes, he takes our trust of one another. I hope you get your machine back soon, and in good order. I hope the punk, or punks, don't get away with this. Keep an eye on Craigslist and Ebay.

I hate this. Hard working people making an honest living only to have their lives upheaveled by what society labels as "the misunderstood". My daughters car was stolen 2 months ago. The police took such a cavalier attitude since its such a daily occurrence that if she ever got her car back, it would be by accident and that is just what happened. $6000 repair bill covered by her insurance instead of having the scumbag that took the car pay for it. It is no wonder that we have career criminals as nothing happens to them. They are never held accountable. Sorry about what happened to you.

Sorry to hear. Recently had my truck broken into and laptop stolen, and I thought that sucked, couldn't imagine my tractor going missing. Do be sure to post serial # and pics though.

That sucks... can you give some information to help other beef up their containers? Or did they just a cut lock? I know some have welded a Lock Box around the lock to make it a bit harder to cut. Did you have anything like that?

This is a good time to read your insurance policy if have replacement costs. probally not even if agent said it would be there.
It will read minus ded. minus age or hours and will be only the piece mentioned no add ons tools or extra equipment.
May 1st. Son-in-law had Dodge truck Finn Hydro Seeder and all tools and extra material stolen. Total clean out of his business.
Insurance co. said could rent from Home Depot a sprayer to use for his job for up to $25. bucks a day.
He told her it cost more than this in fuel to operate. He still has not received any money and will have to enter into a law suit to recover what should be plain language.
Helped him purchase used truck used Hydro seeder and thought the $50,000 was good purchase.
So all this is say have your insurance company point out and underline what replacement costs really is.
I know just another Rant but your money when it is gone.

Sorry about your tractor. After 27+ years in a police department hope your local officers can help. My guess is 1 of 2 out comes, first it was taken for a joy ride by local youths or it is on a trailer heading to some ones yard for use or parts. More like option 2 kids like the cars better. The job and ecconomy situation has increased thefts.that with most departments shortage of officers doesn't make it easy. Best of luck. You may want to notify local tractor. Dealers to keep an eye out knuckle heads may try to sell to them or even trade also check local papers. If it was a joy ride check neighborhood Nd wooded areas where kids 4 wheel.

Sorry about losing your equipment.

I know it's painful, but I'd be interested in the details on the theft. Maybe help someone down the road. I'm considering the purchase of some equipment which will be stored for long periods of time and security is in the front of my mind. Thinking a shipping container since I don't have any sort of barn yet.

Also, I have LoJack on my wheels. I wonder if something like that could be useful for an expensive farm tractor.

Sincerely sorry about the theft of your tractor and equipment. Did the thieves leave any trace or indication at all in regards to what means of transport was used to move the items, such as tracks; etc? Even minor details or clues may be helpful. I really hope that you recover all that was stolen from you, and that the Low Life B*******S are caught, prosecuted and put away.

Watch craigs list, put signs up at local stores etc., check auctions etc. I know of a couple of cases where peolpe have been able to recover thier stuff. I wish you the best.
