Still having occasional freeze up - any ideas?

Hi - running XP in IE6 SP2 - some TBN threads will not open - they start to load and the machine freezes - need to use taskman to get out. Most recent example is Peter Hayden's thread number 111269. My machine is not accepting cookies - is that a problem?

Not accepting cookies is a starting point for potential problems, but why some threads would load and others not doesn't make much sense.

Try going to your user settings and changing thread display mode to hybrid or threaded and try viewing the thread. It might help troubleshoot.

also try upgrading to IE7 (and/or Firefox), IE6 is known to have "interesting" methods of displaying web pages, some of which is fixed in IE7, additionally Firefox or IE7 will give you tabbed browsing which (once you get used to it) makes browsing much easier...
