I have a new 5205 with 28 hours on it. It smokes at start up for a few minutes. After it gets up to temp. all is well. It seems to run fine. If I shut it off and let it set for about five minutes and start it again it starts just fine, but when I accelerate it starts bellowing white smoke acts like its running on 2 cylinders. Does this for about 30 seconds and then clears up and runs fine. All of this is with no load. Help!

White smoke is usually unburned fuel . Call the dealer and make them repair it .Could be timing pump or ? At 28 hours total time there is no excuse for this happening on a new unit . And make them give you a new hat too for your problems ! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

My local dealer had a simular problem with a 5000 series tractor, They changed out the turbo and a bunch of other parts. Turned out to be injectors.

You have had some good suggestions aready, A couple of other things it may be is, inoperative preheater, coolant leak into the cyl. , and fuel quality. Because of your indication it runs like it is on 2 cyl and then clears up after a short time my hunch is an injector.

Thanks for the info. I'll call the dealer and set up an appointment. I'll bet it's the injectors.

So how about an update? What did the dealer do?
