stihl ms290 farmboss

So I'm not a mechanic but the other day I bent the bar on my Walmart saw I've had for a while. I needed a saw and had my grandfathers ms 290 which has been sitting for 4 years.

Well my cousin was supposed to help me fix it today well I couldn't get in touch with him so it took the carberater off and took it apart it was gummed up and had dirt in the Air holes so i blew it out let it soak in gas and carb clean for an hour while I cleaned up the saw and sharpened my chains.

Put it back together and some fresh gas.

It runs like a champ now.

Nothing like fixing something your self and saving 60 bucks.

Also should make ya feel good to work on a quality product.

I've got 4 Stihl saws. Got an old 018 that I hadn't started for 3 years. Took it off the shelf last month, dumped the old gas, added new, 6 pulls on the rope and she was running. Used it to trim some yard trees and it worked like a new one. Gotta love quality like that.

It amazing how bad all these Chinese tools are you might get a few seasons out of them if your lucky
